Plantation Shutters & Window Blinds in Easttown, PA

The property that became Easttown Township was previously part of the Welsh Tract, a vast tract of land pledged by William Penn to a group of Welsh Quaker settlers so that they may talk and do business in Welsh.

While the autonomous entity envisioned by some never came to be, it left an indelible effect on the many Welsh place names that still exist today, such as the census-designated place (CDP) Berwyn in Easttown and the surrounding Tredyffrin Township. The township is thought to have been incorporated in 1704 because that is the first date it has been discovered in official records. However, Thomas Holme’s map from around 1687 shows a demarcated village of that name.
